Developing your career
The Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course provides basic training for people who are required to be emergency first aiders within the workplace. This course is suitable for low-risk workplaces such as offices and shops.
The course syllabus is as specified by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and is fully compliant with The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.
This course can be used as a refresher course, for staff required to be emergency first aiders or for those who wish to support a designated first aider trained via the First Aid at Work course.
During the course theory, group questions and practical skills will be covered however each candidate will be continually assessed throughout the course. There is no final assessment.
If you completed the EFAW, after three years you just need to take the same course again to re-qualify.
To prevent skills fade during the three years of the course you can complete our Annual Update course to refresh your first aid skills.
We will help you retain your skills and knowledge by giving you a comprehensive first aid manual, regular updates and a reminder when your certificate is about to expire. All our courses incorporate best practice and comply with the latest guidelines from the Resuscitation Council UK and the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Guidance on First Aid 2015 and comply with the International Guidance from ILCOR.
